Omicron – increase your protection

No one should be in any doubt, there is a tidal wave of Omicron coming,” Prime Minister Boris Johnson said in a TV statement on Sunday evening 12th December, as he declared an “Omicron emergency

Mr Johnson gave his update just hours after the UK’s Covid alert level was raised to four due to the spread of the new Omicron virus variant. “I’m afraid we’re now facing an emergency in our battle with the new variant Omicron,” he warned.

The new Omicron variant of Covid-19 is doubling every two or three days – spreading faster than anything yet seen in the pandemic.

Omicron

It’s hoped that it will cause less severe illness than the Delta variant – but we won’t know that for a few weeks. If the Omicron variant does in fact cause only mild symptoms, as early reports suggest, it may aid in boosting herd immunity. That would be very good news indeed!

But in order for that to happen – an awful lot of people have to become infected – and a proportion will undoubtably experience severe complications.

For the majority of us – who are unquestionably going to be exposed – then the milder the symptoms we experience the better!

In large part the severity of the symptoms depends upon how strong your immunity is. And there’s a lot you can do to support your immune system.

Timely video

In a very timely video, Dr John Campbell talks to Israeli GP  Dr Michael Cohen about his experience of supporting his patients’ immunity with vitamin D, vitamin K2 and zinc. It’s well worth watching:-

Since the beginning of the pandemic, this Food For Thought web site has been explaining how you can increase your protection with those very nutrients.

Only one thing?

In the light of the looming infection rates, a friend asked me if there was any ONE thing I would recommend to someone – if they would be likely to do only one thing. I replied that vitamin D would have to be at the top of the list.

More infections fighters

Having said all that – I can’t really recommend doing only one thing – but one thing is better than nothing! Rather that doing just one thing, however, I would encourage everyone to work their way through the following pages:-

Prevention is best

Prevention is best – the sooner you start to work on your health the better. The bonus will be that the health benefits will be far wider than just good immunity – addressing important issues such as chronic inflammation.

Tested positive

Despite having had three vaccinations, my husband tested positive for Covid-19  (after a Christmas ‘do’ in a crowded pub!)

A few days after that Christmas ‘do’ he began to cough and sneeze (in the same room as me!). We even took a couple of car journeys together – with him coughing in the car. So I definitely would have inhaled the virus!

It’s now been almost two weeks since he became infectious. Yet throughout that time, I’ve been getting regular negative lateral flow test results! And I’ve had no symptoms whatsoever.

Preventative

Throughout this pandemic I’ve been taking all of the infection fighters, including neem. Taking neem before you even know you’ve come into contact with the virus is particularly effective at preventing the virus from building up in the body – because neem significantly inhibits viruses at an early stage of viral genome replication.
